Here’s a national celebration that I bet you have never heard of: Honor America Days (36 U.S. Code § 112)

(a) Designation.— The 21 days from Flag Day through Independence Day is a period to honor America.

(b) Congressional Declaration.— Congress declares that there be public gatherings and activities during that period at which the people of the United States can celebrate and honor their country in an appropriate way.

On June 4, 1981, Ronald Reagan said the purpose of Honor America Days was to: “honor America during which Americans reflect upon the Nation’s character, heritage, fortifying principles, and future well being.” Although it is easy to critize our country, it is important to spend time focusing on the positive aspects of our character, heritage, and fortifying principles.

Please share your positive thoughts about our country below. Let’s celebrate together!
