“The principle of equality, which allows every man to arrive at everything, prevents all men from rapid advancement.” Alexis De Tocqueville, Democracy in America.

Imagine living in a country where no one can seek his or her dream because everyone must function under the pretense of equal opportunity? The principles upon which this nation was founded accords us the potential, not the guarantee but the potential, to achieve our dreams because we have the freedom and the opportunity to do so.

Please take a moment to be thankful for the opportunities that we have because we live in the United States of America. We live in a country where hard work and perseverance will allow anyone to scale the mountain of his or her own American Dream. Even if that mountain is as daunting and as difficulty as that seen in the attached image from Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. Success is the reward for hard work and determination. What is your American Dream?
